RE: RV.net 6th Annual Class B Rally. Voting Results Are In!

Dick & Jan,
We also will be out of town for awhile. Lynne and David (asheguy) have once again volunteered to handle the B-rally site and registration, Thanks guys. We will most likely get the registration process started in Mid-October. As mentioned above we have the sites held for us so we're covered in that area. We also hope to have a preliminary schedule available in Mid-October. We look forward to seeing everyone in May. To those of you going to Moab, have a great time, it sounds like you're going to have perfect weather.

RE: RV.net 6th Annual Class B Rally. Voting Results Are In!

We have reserved 41 sites for the rally, more are available across the road so we can handle any number of attendees. We'll be in touch.

RE: 6th Annual RV.net Rally Voting

Bob,
Do you remember how many votes were cast last year? I can't find my notes but I seem to remember the high 30's.

RE: RV.net 6th Annual Class B Rally. Voting Results Are In!

John, I don't know about the other two sites, but there is no problem with the age of the units at our Ohio site. I just checked with them and they asked me why I would ask such a question so I blamed it on you. I do realize that there are campgrounds with restrictions such as that, but not here in the Western Reserve.

RE: Cleveland, Ohio, Any chance?

Also in Geneva on The Lake, just of I-90exit 223 or 218 is Indian Creek Camping Resort, very large and clean campground, walk to the lake. I'm going to guess 45 minutes to downtown Cleveland. Check them out www.indiancreekresort.com

RE: Sewage outlet on Vista Cruiser problem, need help.

I would insist that the dealer correct the problem and if he does not, I would go directly to Gulf Stream and get them involved. That's a pretty serious problem to have.

RE: Passenger in the back of our class B, airbag pressure?

Judy,
We recently went on a trip of 700 miles each way, Chris and her sister sat in the back almost the entire trip with no discomfort. Although my PW is a TS model, I don't think it should make that much difference in the ride. The unit was pretty well maxed out and I had the airbags at 65# and the rear tires at 80#, front at 75#. Hope this helps a bit.

RE: RV.net 6th Annual Class B Rally. Voting Results Are In!

It will soon be time to begin voting on the nominated sites for B-6. If there are any further nominations, now is the time to let us all know. Michael (Ibthebest) who handled the voting process last year is unable to step in within the time limits to do it again this year. Bob Kelley (Sox Fax) has volunteered to take over for Michael. If there are any objections, now is the time to speak up. Otherwise we will soon be receiving more information regarding time limits, regulations, and voting instructions.

RE: Towing boat with Road Trek 1993 Dodge 3500

I'm not sure of the Roadtreks but my Pleasureway Excel with the V-10 has a max. towing capacity of 5,000#, my two prior Pleasureways, one Ford V-8 and one Dodge V-8 360 were limited to 3,500# capacity. I tow a 4,100# Jeep with my V-10 and I don't think I would chance towing 7,000#. I'm sure you would be well over your gross combined weight rating.

Not to dwell on the subject, but I confirmed with Indian Creek that there are a total of 9 showers each for women and men in two shower houses very close to the area we would be.

RE: Do you run the generator and air in a B while driving?

We do run ours on occasion if it's really hot and sunny. I drive with my rear door and rear side curtains down, it makes a huge difference when driving in the sun.

RE: RV.net 6th Annual Class B Rally. Voting Results Are In!

Just a note, if showers are a concern to those that have or have not been to a rally, our Ohio nomination has very large clean shower rooms, they are also heated as well as air conditioned and. This is not meant to criticize the Indiana nomination, just a little more information for those concerned.

Well said David. I think last year's system worked very well. Six weeks or so from now we should all know where we're going. Thanks for getting the process started.

Bob, Leslie & Hart too,
Your area would be a great destination, so much to see, especially for an extended stay. Hopefully you'll hear from the second one and we'll have a fourth nomination.

RE: RV.net 6th Annual Class B Rally. Voting Results Are In!

Thanks David, In going over Janie's post I noticed that showers are mentioned, the shower in all units regulation kind of shocked me. In checking the casino web site it does state that it's a riverboat casino, maybe it just looks like a riverboat, in any case it sounds like a nice place.

RE: RV.net 6th Annual Class B Rally. Voting Results Are In!

Janie & Ray too,
I agree that this would be a good addition to the list. I have never been to a river boat casino and would like to try it, it's also not all that far from our home. I did notice on their web site that all units must be fully self contained including showers. Does that mean there are no shower facilities at the campground? Also, would those units not having showers be excluded from the Rally? I'm going out of town tomorrow morning for most of the week without internet access so I thought it might be a good idea to get answers to those two questions before you officially nominate River Resort.

RE: RV.net 6th Annual Class B Rally. Voting Results Are In!

We agree with Jim and Carolyn. However our preliminary estimates based on local catering prices near Indian Creek, to have all meals provided, Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Sunday breakfast, along with entertainment, the cost per person would be in the $15/$20 range rather than $40.00 or higher.

RE: Purchase of a Class B

All of the Class B's have had most of the bugs worked out over the years. If the layout isn't important to you and prices are similar, I would choose the one I feel more comfortable in. Although I am, and have been a GM person for 40 years, I have owned three Pleasureways, the first on a Dodge chassis, and the last two on a Ford chassis. I have been happy with all three. I do believe however that the GM has more leg room for the driver. I'm short so the lack of leg room doesn't bother me. Good luck on whichever you choose.
